1. How far in advance do I need to book?
It doesn't matter, we can fit most things in with just a few days notice, but if accommodation bookings are required then as much notice as possible to avoid disappointment.
No we don't, but most major European tour operators have an excellent selection of packages to Malta.
Either by phone, fax or e-mail, advising us of your accommodation address and date of arrival.
4. How do I get to the Dive Centre?
If you don't have your own transport we offer free collection from and return to your holiday accommodation.
5. Do I have to give a deposit?
No not for diving, but if your diving is part of an accommodation package organized by AquaVenture then a deposit is required.
June through to the end of October is considered to be the best time, with sea temperatures of 20C in June rising to 25/28C in July and August.
7. Can you arrange accommodation locally?
Yes we can from an excellent choice of self catering apartments and villas, some with own private pools. For groups of six divers or more checkout our group packages page.
8. Do you accept credit cards?
Yes and with no extra charges.
We're closed from January 1st until January 31st, reopening for business on February 1st. Clients booking for diving in January by email will still be catered for during this time. Weather Permitting.
10. Do I need my own equipment?
No, we have at least 60 full sets of all the necessary equipment to ensure your total comfort and safety underwater.
11. Can I try something first?
Yes. PADI offers the Discover Scuba Diving program. This is a non qualification, fun, half day introductory programme comprising a simple theory, pool training session followed by your first sea dive.
12. How long does it take for my first qualification?
The first partial qualification course is the P.A.D.I. Scuba Diver and requires two full days. For a full qualification the P.A.D.I Open Water Diver Course requires four full days for completion or BSAC offers the Ocean Diver Course.
13. What does P.A.D.I. stand for?
Professional Association of Diving Instructors.
It is an American based organisation which constantly ensures that its members adhere to the highest standards at all times.14. What does B.S.A.C stand for?
British Sub Aqua Club
It is the British training agency based on a club system within the UK offers equivalent levels of training to the more widely known P.A.D.I.15. How long before I can fly after diving?
Safety first is 24 hours.
16. What's the best way to start?
We recommend the P.A.D.I. Open Water Diver Course which is ideal for the holidaymaker. The course consists of theory using audio/visual equipment and an easy to understand textbook, followed by confined water training and a minimum of four sea dives, all providing you with the necessary knowledge and skills for complete confidence in the underwater environment. All necessary equipment and road transport is included in the price.
17. What if I'm already Open Water qualified?
Then go to the next level which is Advanced Open Water. AquaVenture can eventually take you all the way to Assistant Instructor.
All you do is complete a standard medical questionnaire form, any questions requiring a yes answer will then need a doctors ok before diving. This can be arranged through the dive center for a small fee.
19. Is my own Doctor's medical O.K.?
Yes, provided it is current and refers to breathing compressed air underwater.
20. If I learn to dive in Malta can I dive anywhere?
Yes. The P.A.D.I. and B.S.A.C qualifications are internationally recognised.
21. Can I do some training in my own country?
Yes. This normally comprises the theory and pool training sessions, after which your instructor will complete a referral form for you to hand to your dive centre on holiday in order to complete the required number of open water sea dives for your qualification.
12 years of age is our advised minimum.
23. Are there any medical restrictions?
Yes. Any question answered "YES" on the medical self declaration will require you to consult a doctor before participation in a scuba diving activity. If you suffer from asthma and or sugar diabetes, you should consult your own doctor as you may not be able to get authorisation to dive on Malta.
24. Do you teach courses in foreign languages?
Yes. Teaching materials are available in most major European languages.
25. While I'm diving what can my non-diving partner/family do at AquaVenture?
AquaVenture also own a fully equipped watersports centre with everything from single seat canoes to three person jet bikes. Sunbathing facilities are also available with safe swimming from a private beach and the use of bars and snack bars for those who want to stay in the shade.
26. Can I learn anything else at AquaVenture?
Yes, windsurf and dinghy sailing courses for the absolute beginner right up to the most experienced are always available.
Yes, we can even teach you to water ski.
28. What if I'm a qualified diver?
We have a vast choice of dives to choose from, regularly visiting over 40 of some of the best locations in the Mediterranean.
Yes, provided you have a buddy and are both Advanced Open Water qualified or equivalent.
30. Do I need a special permit to dive independently?
No. But you will need to complete a standard medical questionnaire.
31. Can you arrange a video of my dive?
Yes, either as part of a group or individually.
We're open six days a week Monday to Saturday, and dive every morning at 9.00 and every afternoon at 13.00/13.30. Two or three evenings a week night dives are organised which are extremely popular. One day every week we have an all day dive safari to Gozo where we dive the world class Blue Hole and Inland Sea. On another day we'll go by boat to Comino to dive the beautiful Comino Caves.
33. What safety precautions are there at AquaVenture?
All AquaVenture diving instructors are medically trained both to teach the Emergencey First Resonder qualification and to assist with and control any situation. Oxygen is available both at the Dive Centre and in all vehicles and boats used for diving for emergency use and all instructors are trained in its correct administration. Comprehensive first aid kits are in all AquaVenture vehicles. All staff are trained to follow AquaVenture's laid down procedures for Health and Safety, ensuring the comfort and well being of our clients.
34. Can I buy equipment at AquaVenture?
Yes. We have a fully stocked retail shop with products from all the leading manufacturers.
