Come see us on facebook!! Aquaventure's social side has gone public, all those who received our christmas card this year will have been informed of our Facebook presence. Come have a chat or leave an inspiring message or joke on our wall. Shortly we will have a link from the website to facebook which will take on the role of daily news provider with this space keeping the annual and important newsflashes present.

A belated New Year to all and congratulations to our 2009 photo competition winners. Besides the winning shot of the Moray eel featured on this years christmas card the other finalists are shown below. Also this year due to the high standard there is an exra picture also from Matthijs Rutten that we will use for other advertising material. Thanks for all the entries in 2009 and we look forward to receiving entries for the 2010 season.

All of us at Aquaventure would like to wish a Special Happy 40th Birthday to Lee. Lee became a Director with the company earlier this year and has taken the company through the BSAC courses that are being offered as well as completely reorganising the shop and sales sectors. The celebrations will be mainly carried out at Relections bar with a fancy dress party themed "Under the Sea".

Aquaventure would like to wish a Happy 40th Birthday to Dave Galloway. Dave has been diving with us for the last couple of years. This year having his 40th Birthday during his trip meant a few special dive and post dive trips to be organised for both his and our enjoymeant..

Today showed the first of our Sunday club trips with a two dive day to Devil's Reef and the Scott Craig, as we move into summer our trips will become more regular though next week Sunday club will be running a trip to the Blenheim Bomber and the MAP project for a dive the Tuna.

We would like to welcome Helene "Lee" Martin to management team of Aquaventure. Lee has worked with us for the last three years and now has become a Directorof the company giving strenght to the core base and bringing new idea's and energy to the company.

Aquaventure is pleased to announce the formation of it's Sunday Club; traditionally Aquaventure has always closed on a Sunday as our rest day. Sunday Club dives and the experience level required will be posted in the dive center during the week before.

Aquaventure has now a new vehicle to it's fleet. A Toyota Hiace has now been added whilst one of the Isuzu's has been sent for scrap and parts. This new aquisition continues our policy of a gradual and permanent upgrading of all of our transports.

We are pleased to announce that are 2009 prices are set. Overall we have again held our prices with slight increases only on the Open Water course to cover increasing direct costs. These prices will now remain unchanged until 2010.

The PDSA again elected Ian to the position of Secretary after the successful role he played in hosting various media people and promoting Maltese diving through the international diving press.

New Currency in Malta: Welcome to the new year and for those of you returning to malta or visiting for the first time we are pleased to inform you that Malta is now a Euro currency nation. This means we now fit in with the rest of europe and so one less currency to keep track of.

New Assistant Instrctors: A second congratulations to Chris and Kathryn for completing their Assistant Instructor Course with us this year. Also to Angela on her AI course. Angela completed her DM course in 2006 and we hope to see her back again in 2008.

Mellieha Feast is here again!! Once again the Mellieha feast comes around, introducing the end of peak season and the start of quieter times. Also the time to congratulate our new Divemasters that underwent our intern program this summer. These are Chris, Tom, Kathryn and Becky, good luck to you all in your future diving careers.

New Wreck off Cirkewwa: Earlier this week on Tuesday 14th an ex German, Condor class minesweeper was sunk off Cirkewwa. The wreck settled in a perfect upwright position on the sea bed at 37m. Although deep at the bottom the masts are in only 17m of water meaning most of the ship is accessible even for those doing their Advanced Open Water course, look out for pictures in our photo gallery or read more in our dive sites description.

Summer is Here: Aquaventure is now fully staffed and ready for the seasons expected visitors. Our team for this year are all highly motivated and ready to welcome any clients. Also as of 19th April Ian has been elected as Secretary to the commitee of the PDSA (Professional Diving Schools Association).
